How to Contact the US Embassy in the UAE: Visa Helpline, Email and Phone Numbers

US B1/B2 and student visas from Dubai

Do not want to wait a year for your USA slot? Get it in 7 working days.

The official calendar shows about 10 months for a US visa interview in Dubai. We take that wait down to about 7 working days: we watch every appointment release, book the earliest confirmed date we can reach, and prepare your DS-160 and supporting file so the slot is not wasted.

  • Your appointment timeframe is agreed with you in writing
  • If we do not secure it in that time, we refund our service fee
  • We never promise the visa decision, which belongs to the consular officer

How to Contact the US Embassy in the UAE: Visa Helpline, Email and Phone Numbers

Short answer: for anything about a US visa, do not call the embassy switchboard. Contact the visa customer service centre on +971 4 205 5981 or at support-uae [at] usvisascheduling.com, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00 UAE time. The embassy number in Abu Dhabi (+971 2 414 2200) and the consulate number in Dubai (+971 4 309 4000) are for US citizens, including emergencies.

Who should you contact for what?

The US Mission to the UAE splits its contacts by type of customer. Visa applicants go to the visa customer service centre, and US citizens go to the embassy or consulate.

The US visa helpline in the UAE: numbers, hours and languages

The embassy’s visas page lists one set of contact details for visa applicants, run by the scheduling service at ustraveldocs.com/ae:

  • Phone from the UAE: +971 4 205 5981
  • Phone from the United States: +1 313 262 5702
  • Email: support-uae [at] usvisascheduling.com
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00 UAE time
  • Languages: English, Arabic and Farsi
  • Closed: on UAE national holidays as observed by the embassy and consulate. The ustraveldocs contact page says it closes on local and US holidays, so allow for both.

The ustraveldocs.com/ae contact page also offers “Talk to an Agent”, a free voice call from your browser, plus “Chat with Support”, “Send an Email” and a Help Desk. If you would rather not pay for a phone call, the browser call and the chat are worth trying first.

What can the visa helpline do, and what can it not do?

The helpline deals with your scheduling account, not with the visa decision. Based on the official UAE instructions, it can help when you cannot fix something yourself:

  • Forgotten security question answers: contact the helpline or email support-uae [at] usvisascheduling.com with your issue and a new email address. The instructions say to allow 2 business days and then contact the helpline to confirm the change.
  • The wrong DS-160 barcode on a booking: if the “Close Application and Start New Application” option will not work, the instructions say to send a request through “Feedback/Requests” or contact the call centre.
  • General questions about your scheduling account and the booking steps.

It cannot decide your visa or speed up a decision, because that belongs to the consular officer. It cannot create interview dates either: new nonimmigrant slots are released in the system every Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. UAE time, except on US and UAE holidays. The UAE terms also say agents cannot help you complete the DS-160, advise which visa class to apply for, or tell you which documents to bring to the interview.

How to raise a case inside your account

Many problems are quicker to solve from your own login on usvisascheduling.com, the UAE system since 30 May 2025, than by phone. Use “Feedback/Requests” on your visa application home page for corrections such as a DS-160 barcode change, and keep a note of what you sent and when.

If you need an earlier interview for an urgent reason, the official route also runs through the account:

  1. Book the earliest regular appointment available.
  2. Log in again and request an expedited appointment, giving your travel date, the purpose of the trip and why the regular date does not work, with evidence.
  3. Wait for the review. There is no separate fee for the request, but the visa fee must already be paid. Requests are reviewed case by case, no turnaround is published, and if a request is refused your original appointment stays.

Medical emergencies, the death or funeral of an immediate family member, urgent business that cannot wait and a study start date before the next slot are usually considered. Tourism, weddings, general family visits and flights you have already booked are usually not. The $750 pilot is a separate US government programme, explained on our page about the $750 US visa pilot for UAE residents.

US Embassy and Consulate addresses in the UAE

  • US Embassy Abu Dhabi: Airport Road at Rabdan (29th) Street, Embassies District, Plot 38, Sector W59-02, Street No. 4, P.O. Box 4009, Abu Dhabi. Phone +971 2 414 2200.
  • US Consulate General Dubai: corner of Al Seef Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road, Dubai. Phone +971 4 309 4000.

Do not go to either building to ask a visa question in person. In general only applicants with a scheduled appointment are allowed into the consular section, and no bags of any size or laptops are allowed inside.

Common mistakes when contacting the US Embassy about a visa

  • Calling the embassy or consulate switchboard about an appointment. Those lines are for US citizens. Visa questions go to +971 4 205 5981 or the support email.
  • Emailing from a different address. Write from the email on your scheduling profile and quote your passport number, so the agent can match your message to your profile.
  • Opening a second profile. If you are locked out, ask for help with the profile you have. Our guide to fixing a UAE appointment profile shows the routes.
  • Waiting on the phone for a slot. Slots appear in the system, mainly on Friday mornings, not through the helpline.
  • Trusting numbers from social media. Use only the numbers on ae.usembassy.gov and ustraveldocs.com/ae.

How FastUSTravel helps

We are a private company, not the embassy or the helpline. If you are stuck, we can look at your account problem, prepare the DS-160 and handle the booking, following the order in our US visa booking guide for UAE residents. For an earlier date, we offer appointments in 7 working days, agreed in writing, fee refunded if missed. The available windows are on our packages page, and if you are short of time see our urgent US visa appointment page. We cannot promise approval, because that decision is always the consular officer’s.
